General Motors Powertrain Plant Repack Area: Worker Utilization and Ergonomic Improvements |Aug 2018 - May 2019 | Project Manager (Team of Four) - The project was coordinated between Wayne State University and General Motors. - It was conducted at General Motor's Powertrain Plant in Romulus, Michigan. - It was aimed to increasing worker utilization, developing standardized work, and addressing ergonomic anomalies in the repack area. - The team collected and analyzed data to identify problem areas. - Repacking recommendations: Reduce the number of repackers from four to three. Each repacker is assigned a role in the repack team and follows the standard work instruction for that role. One month after implementation, conduct time study to assess results of pilot plan. - Ergonomic recommendations: Height-Adjustable Table, Layout Reorganization. - GM requested the final presentation to be implemented in the powertrain plant
1] Improve Warehousing of Food Supplier/ Distributer Using Lean Six Sigma |Wayne State University | May - Aug 2018 | Project Manager (Team of Four) The project was aimed to determine reasons for employees' downtime during work hours and presenting a solution to increase employee utilization using Lean Six Sigma. Minitab Software, DMAIC Methodology, and (Current/Future) Value Stream Map were used to decrease employee idle time. Recommendations: Implement scanning system, decrease employee team size, and increase workload for team members
2] Designing a Helicopter using the application of DOE in Minitab | Wayne State University | Aug 2017 - Jan 2018 | Individual Project This project focuses on how design decisions are made regarding the product design parameters to satisfy a requirement, where the longer staying time in the air is the objective in this project. There are two main stages of the project: First stage is to design a helicopter based on the data gotten in Minitab using DOE tools, where I had to analyze data and select the optimal design. Second stage is to predict new performance in order to have a better design of the helicopter
