How to Request a Specific Professional
Want one specific person? Open their profile, click “Request This Professional,” describe the work in a guided wizard, and send a private request. No account needed to start — you sign in only at the final step.
Step by step
Find the professional you want
Browse professionals and open the full profile of the person you’d like to work with — skills, experience, certifications and past work are all on the page.
Click “Request This Professional”
On the professional’s profile, click “Request This Professional.” This opens the same guided work-create wizard used for public posting — pre-set to go privately to this one person.
Describe the work
Walk through the wizard: what you need done, where, the schedule, and the details. It’s the full posting flow, but the request is private to the professional you chose.
Submit your request
You can fill everything out without an account — you only sign in at the final submit step. No earlier login wall.
The professional receives a private request
Your request goes directly to that professional. It is not posted to the public board — only they see it.
They accept and you move forward
The professional reviews and accepts, and you proceed together — typically as an hourly contract or the arrangement you chose in the wizard.
For companies
Get the exact person you want
Skip the open posting and invite the specific professional whose profile fits your need.
Private, not public
Your request goes only to that professional — it never appears on the public job board.
Start without an account
Fill out the whole request first; you only sign in at the final submit step.
One familiar flow
It’s the same guided work-create wizard as public posting — nothing new to learn.
For professionals
Named, direct requests
Companies who want you specifically can reach you by name — warm, high-intent leads.
You stay in control
Review each private request and accept only the work that’s right for you.
Your profile does the selling
A complete profile is what earns “Request This Professional” clicks — keep it sharp.
No bidding war
A direct request isn’t an open posting with dozens of applicants — it’s for you.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to request a professional?
No. You can fill out the entire request first and only sign in at the final submit step — there is no earlier login wall.
Is my request public?
No. A Request-a-Professional submission is private to the one professional you chose. It is not posted to the public job board, and no one else sees it.
Can I request any professional?
Any published professional has a “Request This Professional” button on their full profile. Open the profile of the person you want and start there.
What happens after I submit my request?
The professional receives your private request and can accept it. Once they accept, you proceed together — usually as an hourly contract or whatever arrangement you set up in the wizard.
How is this different from posting a public job?
A public job is open to everyone and gathers applicants. Request-a-Professional sends one private invitation to the specific person you want — same guided flow, but targeted and private.
