What is the difference between an hourly contract, direct job, apprenticeship, and RFQ?

Accepted Answer

Hourly contracts are for temporary/contract work paid by the hour with base, overtime, and double-time rates. Direct jobs are permanent full-time positions with salary and benefits. Apprenticeships and internships are paid, learn-on-the-job positions that use the same hiring flow as a direct job and post a salary or hourly pay range. RFQs (Requests for Quote) are for large projects where companies solicit bids from qualified professionals.

Can I post a paid apprenticeship or internship on Automate America?

Yes. Apprenticeship / Internship is one of the four work types on the work-creation wizard and it is free to post. It runs the same flow as a direct job — apply, connect, hire — and requires a posted pay range, either an annual salary or an hourly minimum and maximum. Describe the training the role provides in the posting description.

Can I post a job anonymously on Automate America?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Any work type can be posted anonymously. Hourly contracts are always posted anonymously. For direct jobs and RFQs, you can toggle anonymous posting. Your company identity is revealed only when you extend an offer to hire (hourly contract), request an interview (direct job), or award the project (RFQ).

How long do job postings stay active?

Direct jobs and RFQs auto-unpublish after 1 week. You will be notified and can renew or boost the listing from your dashboard. Hourly contracts stay active until the contract is complete.

Accepted Answer

Your posting appears in the feed and is visible to matching professionals based on their skills, occupation, and location. Professionals can apply directly. You can review applications, shortlist candidates, and manage the hiring process from your dashboard.
