Refund Policy
Introduction
This Refund Policy describes the terms and conditions under which Automate America, Inc. ("Company", "we", "us") will issue refunds for purchases made on the Automate America Professional Marketplace ("Platform").
The Automate America Platform is a professional marketplace that connects businesses with skilled professionals. Because our services are primarily digital and marketplace-based, refund eligibility varies by the type of purchase. Please review this policy carefully before making any purchase.
By purchasing any service or feature on the Platform, you acknowledge and agree to this Refund Policy, which supplements the Site User Agreement.
1. General Principles
The Automate America Platform operates as a professional marketplace facilitating connections between businesses and professionals. As such, our refund policies reflect the nature of marketplace services:
- We strive to resolve all billing issues promptly and fairly
- Refund requests must be submitted within 30 calendar days of the original purchase date
- All approved refunds are returned to the original payment method via Stripe
- Refund processing typically takes 5-10 business days after approval
- Partial refunds may be issued at our discretion based on usage and circumstances
2. Boost and Advertising Purchases
Eligible for Refund:
- Boost or ad purchases cancelled within 24 hours of purchase, provided the boost/ad has not yet been delivered or displayed to users
- Technical failures where a paid boost or advertisement was purchased but never displayed due to a platform error
- Duplicate charges resulting from payment processing errors
Not Eligible for Refund:
- Boosts or ads that have already been delivered, displayed, or partially served
- Dissatisfaction with boost performance (impressions, clicks, or engagement) — boosts do not guarantee specific outcomes
- Boosts cancelled after the 24-hour window
Pro-Rated Refunds:
- If a multi-week boost is cancelled mid-cycle, a pro-rated refund may be issued for unused full weeks at our discretion
3. Subscription Refunds
Annual Subscriptions:
- Annual subscription plans may be cancelled at any time
- Upon cancellation, a pro-rated refund will be issued for the remaining unused full months of the subscription term
- No refund is issued for partial months
Monthly Subscriptions:
- Monthly subscription plans may be cancelled at any time before the next billing cycle
- No refunds are issued for the current billing period — your access continues until the end of the paid period
- Cancellation prevents future charges but does not trigger a refund for time already paid
Free Trials:
- If you cancel during a free trial period, you will not be charged
- If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan and standard refund policies apply
4. Connection Credits
Connection credits are digital tokens used to initiate professional connections on the Platform.
Non-Refundable Once Used:
- Connection credits that have been used to send a connection request are non-refundable, regardless of whether the connection was accepted or declined
Unused Credits:
- Unused connection credits purchased within the last 30 days may be eligible for a refund on a case-by-case basis
- Complimentary or promotional credits are never eligible for refund
Credit Expiration:
- Connection credits do not expire while your account remains active
- If your account is closed or terminated, unused purchased credits may be refunded at our discretion
5. Marketplace Transactions
The Automate America Platform facilitates connections between businesses and professionals but is not a party to the underlying service agreements between them.
- Contract disputes between businesses and professionals are governed by the terms of the relevant Master Service Agreement or Supplier Service Agreement, not this Refund Policy
- Automate America charges no fee on a professional engagement, so there is nothing to refund on one; optional purchases (boosts, paid ads, connection subscriptions) follow the terms above
- Timesheet and invoice disputes should be resolved between the contracting parties per the applicable service agreement
6. Dispute and Refund Request Process
To request a refund, please follow this process:
Step 1 — Ask:
- Email info@automateamerica.com with your account email, the charge (order number, transaction ID or screenshot) and the reason
Step 2 — Review:
- Automate America reviews your request and may ask you for more information
Step 3 — Resolution:
- An approved refund goes back to your original payment method through our payment processor (Stripe); it usually appears within 5-10 business days
Step 4 — Escalation:
- If you are unsatisfied with the resolution, write to legal@automateamerica.com
Chargebacks:
- We encourage you to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with your payment provider
- Filing a chargeback without first attempting to resolve the issue with us may result in suspension of your account pending investigation
7. Exceptions and Special Circumstances
We may issue refunds outside the standard terms described above in the following circumstances:
- Platform outages that prevented you from using a paid service during its active period
- Billing errors where you were charged an incorrect amount
- Unauthorized charges — if you believe your account was used without your authorization, contact us immediately
- Legal requirements — where applicable law requires a refund that exceeds the terms of this policy
Automate America reserves the right to make exceptions to this policy on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion. Any exception granted does not create a precedent for future refund requests.
8. Policy Modifications
Automate America reserves the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Changes are posted on this page with a new version and effective date.
