California Privacy Notice (CCPA)
Introduction
This California Privacy Notice ("Notice") is provided pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively, "CCPA"), Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100 et seq. This Notice supplements the Automate America Privacy Policy and applies solely to residents of the State of California ("consumers" or "you").
Automate America, Inc. ("Company", "we", "us") operates the Automate America Professional Marketplace. This Notice describes how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process personal information of California residents, and the rights you have under the CCPA.
1. Categories of Personal Information Collected
In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information from California consumers:
A. Identifiers:
- Name, email address, phone number, mailing address, username, account ID
- IP address, device identifiers, browser type
B. Professional or Employment-Related Information:
- Job title, employer, work history, skills, certifications, education
- Resume/CV content, portfolio items, professional references (name, company, position, relationship to you, how long you have known them, phone and email), and an emergency contact (name, relationship to you, phone and email), and contacts you import from your address book (name and email address)
C. Commercial Information:
- Purchase history (boosts)
- Transaction records, billing information
D. Internet or Network Activity:
- Browsing history on the Platform, search queries, page interactions
- Log data, referral URLs, clickstream data
E. Geolocation Data:
- Approximate location derived from IP address
- City, state and street address provided in user profiles (the street address is shared only with your connections — Site User Agreement Section 10)
F. Inferences:
- Professional interests, skill match scores, job preferences
- Feed personalization data, content engagement patterns
G. Content you create:
- Connection requests, messages, reviews, endorsements and Connection Stories
- Problem reports and the screenshots you attach
We collect the following sensitive personal information as defined under the CCPA: your Social Security Number (SSN) or Employer Identification Number (EIN), collected on IRS Form W-9 (see our W-9 Collection Notice), and the bank account and routing numbers you provide to receive payment. We do not collect financial account credentials, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, or biometric data.
2. Business and Commercial Purposes for Collection
We collect and use personal information for the following business and commercial purposes:
- Providing our services — Operating the Automate America marketplace, facilitating connections between professionals and businesses, processing transactions
- Account management — Creating and maintaining user accounts, authenticating users
- Personalization — Customizing your feed, search results, and recommendations based on your professional profile and activity
- Communication — Sending service-related notifications, responding to inquiries, providing customer support
- Analytics and improvement — Understanding how users interact with the Platform, identifying trends, improving features and performance
- Security and fraud prevention — Detecting and preventing unauthorized access, fraud, and abuse
- Legal compliance — Complying with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes
- Advertising — Displaying relevant professional opportunities and sponsored content within the feed
3. Categories of Third Parties
We may share personal information with the following categories of third parties:
Service Providers:
- Payment processors (Stripe) — for processing transactions
- Cloud hosting providers — for storing and serving Platform data
- Email service providers — for sending transactional and notification emails
- Analytics providers — for understanding Platform usage
- AI service providers — to read documents you upload, such as a resume or a work posting
- Text-message delivery and mapping services — to send messages and to show locations
Business Partners:
- Other members — your public profile is visible to everyone; your surname, email, phone number and street address go to members you connect with, and some of them to a customer who shortlists, requests or hires you, as the Site User Agreement Section 10 describes; a member who already has your email address and imports it is told that you have an account
- Apps and AI agents you connect to your account — the information covered by the permissions you approve
Legal and Safety:
- Law enforcement or government agencies — when required by law or legal process
- Legal advisors — in connection with legal proceedings or compliance
We do NOT sell personal information. Automate America has not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months and does not intend to sell personal information. We do not sell the personal information of minors under 16 years of age.
We do NOT share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the CCPA.
4. Your California Privacy Rights
Under the CCPA, California residents have the following rights:
Right to Know (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.110):
- You have the right to request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of collection, the business purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it
Right to Delete (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.105):
- You have the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., completing a transaction, detecting security incidents, complying with legal obligations)
Right to Correct (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.106):
- You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you
Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.120):
- Although we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, you may still submit an opt-out request. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out request
Right to Non-Discrimination (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.125):
- We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. You will not receive different pricing, service quality, or access based on exercising your rights
5. How to Exercise Your Rights
You may submit a request to exercise your California privacy rights through any of the following methods:

Verification Process:
- To protect your privacy, we must verify your identity before fulfilling your request
- We will ask you to confirm information associated with your account (e.g., email address, account details)
- If we cannot verify your identity, we may request additional information or deny the request
- For deletion requests involving sensitive data, we may require a signed declaration under penalty of perjury
Authorized Agents:
- You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf
- Authorized agents must provide proof of authorization (e.g., power of attorney or signed written permission)
- We may still require you to verify your identity directly
Response Timeline:
- We will acknowledge receipt of your request within 10 business days
- We will respond to your request within 45 calendar days of receipt
- If additional time is needed, we will notify you of an extension of up to 45 additional days
6. No Sale of Personal Information
Automate America does not sell your personal information.
We have not sold personal information of California residents in the preceding 12 months. Our business model is based on providing marketplace services, not selling user data. Because we do not sell or share personal information, no Do Not Sell / Do Not Share opt-out link or mechanism is offered on the Platform.
We honor Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as valid opt-out requests under the CCPA.
