Many times, rip and replace strategies are far too costly with overall equipment expense and downtime. I help customers understand phased migrations strategies to ease into a modern architecture. Interconnecting machines is vital in today's data driven business systems. What used to be islands of automation are now being connected via Ethernet using advanced networking features. Applying and understanding best practices in network segregation, routing, user management, and access control are all vitally important topics to maintain smooth running automation systems while getting data to ERP systems for analysis. It's an ever-evolving task list to identify areas of improvement.
