Josh — Welding Engineer

- On a team for an install of a 100+ Fanuc robot automation install from power on in the integrators facility to full production at the end users facility. The automation line consisted of resistance welding, adhesive, material handling, fixed dual gun pedistal welders and AGVs. I was apart of the robot programming team, as well as weld development. - Another project I was assigned to involved Fanuc GMAW robotic welders, material handlers, and automated conveyors for a vehical frame line. This was at the integration facility where I helped debug the robots at startup, program the robots, improve GMAW welding quality, and improve cycle times.

Solidworks 3D modeling of welding controllers. This requires creating large 3D assemblies and 2D drawings that utilize the 3D models. Using these as tools, I am able to work closely with production to guide them on producing quality products. Weld development of various unique applications to prove our welding controls and electrodes will be sufficient for the job. This involves creation of welding schedules, destructive testing, and developing electrode configurations. Technical service with our customers to troubleshoot any issues they are having with their machines or assisting with new application development.

2010 - July 2015 Job Description- Quality assurance of door moldings in production. Inspection and final decision making before the parts could be moved to the paint line. - I was a part of the joining division through the debug phase of a new launch at Ford LAP. Through this, experience was gained by working with BOS6000 welding software to troubleshoot welding issues in correlation with Fanuc Robots. - I was a part of the robotic programming team for an integrator from the time power came to the robots at the integration facility, to full production at the end users facility. The project consisted of approximately 120 Fanuc robots (Spot welding, Adhesive joining, material handling) Fanuc R-30iB controller, BOS6000 welding software, Lincoln Electric PowerWaveManager software, SCA adhesive systems were used on this project. Experience with organizing and verification of welding documentation on site was gained. - Cut and etch was a role that included measuring weld lengths, sectioning parts, grinding, polishing, and etching. Once the parts were to this point, I used Pax-it software to capture images, measure the welded cross sections, and record the data into excel documents.
