I set-up the OTC welding robots at Jason inc. when i worked there for 3 yrs. set-up the weld programming and robot training for my operators. then at the sheetmetal manufacturer they also had a custum OTC weld cell that had not ran in 5 yrs. with maint. we got it back up and running then programmed jobs and trained operators
i have programmed fanuc rj-3 robots for mig welding, resistance, and fiber optic laser welding. mostly automotive
I was originally trained on the c-series robot then we upgraded to the g2 series when i worked at senior flexonics and when i worked at LDI industries and the sheetmetal manufacturer i resurrected A-series robots that had not worked in years.
avg.using computor, also use as-400 for material inventory tracking and time cards at previous jobs
Skilled Trades (9)
i went to Hobart Welding School of Technology and was trained in gas, mig, tig, plasma & stick welding from some of the best instructors in the US at that time. i still use my welding skills at home, work. i've aquired vast experience in welding and still learning
i've been tig welding by hand for 40 yrs all sorts of materials. also close to 30yrs of experience of automated tig welding
i will work with maint. on troubleshooting equipment or sometimes do maint. on welding equipment if maint. is not available. i have mechanical knowledge from working on cars as a hobby and taking care of my work vehicals and nieghbors. will do own maint on the house, some electrical on the house and cars.
using robotic welding i have been able to keep companies i've worked for competetive. also raising their quality standards. i have used my robot weld programming and welding skils to take work that was thought to be cheaper to do in china or india. and proven that we can meet the real cost in the US versus the original percieved cost of doing the work in a cheaper labor market.
i have programmed with a Fanuc robot and fiber optic Truimph system at a previous job. i have about 1-2yrs exp.
resistance welding is something i do from time to time. just depends on how much is used at a job.
Professional Competencies (21)
i would constantly work on improving my weld settings or robot programming to get to more optimal cycle time's, reduce rework coming from inconsistent product to welding cell
will not hessitate to work with a vendor or supplier to iron out issue's with product or something in their process causing us problems
been in manufacturing for over 30yrs with welding as main focus, started using welding robots 2000
when working in with welding automation or semi- automation very good at trouble shooting. work well with maint. in figuring out issue's with welding equipment since i know what the equipment should be doing. also worked with control engineers to help diagnose their ladder logic that maybe missing a command to run the cell or robot station wothout any issue's
i have close to 20yrs of welding robot experience with multiple types of robots. i have experience of what robots can do and can't and how to correctly program. There are alot of people out there that program robots and don't understand the littles things about the robot or programming software
Applications (9)
have about 2 yrs experience in fiber optic robotic laser welding
either working with maint. on equipment in my area or myself with manufacturer support
as needed program resistance welders and maintain them
i've trained Male and Females in welding and the one's that listen get so good they are able to move up to the next weling levels
experienced at troubleshooting just about anything
always working in the welding arena getting better each year

OTC IN TIPP CITY OHIO HAS A VERY GOOD TRAINING FACILITY AND TRAINING. I WAS ABLE TO PICK THE PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE FAIRLY FAST FROM MY PREVIOUS 2 WELDING ROBOT TRAINING
went to Geneis welding systems for robotic weld training on a rj-3 Fanuc robot. was very extensive, then went back 1 more time for advanced programming.
PANASONIC HAS A STATE OF THE ART TRAINING FACILITY AND THE ROBOTS WERE EASY TO PICK UP ON THE PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE. THE INSTRUCTOR WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEBLE ABOUT THE TRAINING WE RECIEVED FROM PANASONIC.
