I started programming the SLC 500 and ControlLogix in 1997, then worked tech support for 2 years. For the last 20 years, I've been teaching Industrial Automation.

I've administered the company server for the past 16 years. This includes setting up Apache, writing code to interact with MySQL database (using PHP), and configuring the email server.

10/1999 - Present Automation Training, Carmel, IN Inc Instructor / PLC Technician My function is to provide customized training to mantenance and engineering personnel in the following equipment: I'm very familiar with Allen Bradley PLC-5, SLC-500, ControlLogix, AI, 6200, RSLogix, Panelview, Panelbuilder, Devicenet, and Ethernet. I have developed several classes, including an Online class over the internet. I also teach software products such as RSLogix /Studio 5000, RSView 32, FactoryTalk View ME, Linux, Windows, and Visual Basic. Much of my time is devoted to working with pipelines: Phillips 66, Kinder Morgan, and Enbridge.. At these locations, I have trained students on systems such as Tank Gauging, Truck Racks, and ESD Systems. Other industries I've trained for include power plants, packaging plants, and the automotive industry. Other responsibilities include setting up and administering a local area network running Red Hat Linux as the server, web development, and projects which integrate Allen Bradleyproducts with Unix based systems. This includes the user of BIND for DNS Resolution, MySQL for logging data through an ODBC connection, and using PHP with the Apache web server to display this data on the web. My most recent project was development and delivery of a course on Common Controls Software (CCS-2) for General Motors (GM). I have also designed and configured DeviceNet, ControlNet, and Ethernet/IP networks, and have been troubleshooting these networks for customers

5/1998 - 10/1999 Englewood Electric Chicago, IL Automation Support Engineer My job function was to provide technical support to customers over the telephone on Allen Bradley Automation products. I solved over 3500 cases working at this help desk. I also wrote newsletters, and helped to maintain the computer network by reformatting and configuring computers. I was responsible for writing an automated program in Visual Basic that pulled information from the customer database, and faxed surveys to customers. This project had both a server-side daemon that interfaced with MSSQL, and a client side application which ran on the workstations of our department. Another responsibility included development of a DeviceNet class to teach other personnel at the Chicago facility

4/1995 - 5/1998 North American Pipe Litchfield, IL Corporation Maintenance Technician My main job function was to repair electrical and mechanical failures, and to perform preventative maintenance. We received some systems that were brought in over budget, and it was my responsibility to get the programs written for this equipment. I also provided training for maintenance personnel for the Allen Bradley SLC-500 processors using RSLogix 500 software. My job also consisted of installing and maintaining pneumatic and hydraulic systems in the plant. These systems were controlled by the Allen Bradley SLC 500
