About Me
I have over 20 years of experience in the automation and manufacturing game. My core strengths are machine control however I'm full stack. I've worked on cubing cameras at Nintendo, robotics at Amazon, and highly automated mfg lines at BD medical. I started as a maintenance tech in the food industry before I atteneded mech eng school. Prior to that, I was an aircraft mechanic on the F-16. Ignition and Rockwell are my strongest platforms but working at several integrators, I've been exposed to most major brands.
Professional Competencies (16)
Scratch programmer with Rockwell plc's and hmi's
Scratch programming with twincat 2 and structured text
I've used cognex vision in several applications, mostly inspection.
Solidworks and inventor
I've built multi-site scada systems using vision using store and forward for data integrity. I went through both cert programs in 2013. I have some experience with perspective.
I led the design and deployment of a multi site scada system for a $75 million dollar company that just sold to Tyson foods for ~$3 billion 7 years after my work was put in.
I make things at work and at home. I tinker
Legacy plc systems at a stamping facility
I used Omron NX controllers for machine control and also to directly hit databases. I've been through several training courses at their Chicago facility
Mostly legacy Abb (rapid, devicenet era). I've been through the systems integrator training for both family and Abb.
Mostly inginition with a bit of plant PAX for the biotech industry. MySQL and mssql
I've used sick cubing camera's (3d) at Nintendo for a fullfilment line. I've also integrated their picking hardware and Lidar systems
My green belt project saved about $800k per line per year, a few hundred lines across the world....
I'm excited for the new "ai" hardware that will eliminate the lighting issues with vision systems
