About Me
I've been working in industrial factories for 11 years and I have over 7 years experience with minor/preventative maintenance such as replacing cables and sensors and troubleshooting Allen Bradley software. I've spent the last 3 years focusing on ABB robots for spot and MIG weld application purposes. Now I've begun focusing my career on controls/PACs and Rockwell software. I have approximately 4 months experience with RSLogix/Studio 5000 and gain more with every day.

Found bad logic left by integrators when Production complained about Red Rabbits triggering twice in a row. Had been an unaddressed problem for 5 years. Maintenance calls for help, can't identify fault keeping robots from moving forward in their process. I found a clamp that was no longer receiving power from the I/O block. I'm usually able to solve most of my calls without needing to use RSLogix/Studio 5000 to troubleshoot. I typically use the information provided to me via basic equipment inspection, HMI, and the Teach pendant to solve most issues.

Troubleshoot faults in robot programs. Read/Edit ladder logic with Studio 5000/RSLogix. Use Structured Text to create new programs. Map new sensors to input modules. Address SMC modules using BOOTP. Find ways to improve cycle time and brainstorm continuous improvement ideas. Provide maintenance support when needed. Monitor automation processes to verify functionality.
Corrected problems by troubleshooting, adjusting tooling, opening fixtures, and replacing broken components (shanks, shunts, shot pin and clamp cylinders, electrodes, etc.) on robots and tooling. Find efficient ways for the cells to run and coordinated ideas with Controls to implement more efficient cycle times. Ran cables (ethernet, smb, auxiliary, etc.) through cable trays and leonies. Read and understand Structured Text on a teach pendant, navigate both Fanuc and ABB programs, modify weld/move/pick/drop points via teach pendent. Ensure all cells remain running and are problem free, making good quality parts.
Maintained equipment in operating condition by performing preventive maintenance and repair. Inspected workpieces at various checkpoints, driving quality, performing on-site weld repairs as necessary. Cleaned equipment and work area before, during and after shift, promoting sanitation. Followed standard operating procedures, driving production parameters and quality specifications. Employed safety standards and personal protective equipment to reduce workplace injuries or hazards.

This 90 day course taught me how to use Allen Bradley Rockwell software such as Studio 5000, RSLinx, RSLogix, MicroLogix and a basic understanding of configuring I/O modules, reading Ladder Logic and Structured Text, as well as addressing modules using BOOTP.
