Programming Skills (7)
The majority of our work is with Allen Bradley controllers, HMI software, parts and components.
We have several municipal water treatment clients that use Wonderware. Collectively, Portland Engineering Inc. has a lot of experience.
I frequently use Adobe Pro for all my projects. Creating submittals, O&M manuals, and preparing schematics for customer is a regular task.
To be more specific, I have 5 years of experience with AutoCAD electrical. We design PLC/RTU control panels, local control panels, lighting cabinets regularly.
We have experience programming ABB VFDs. Sometimes I prefer these.
I am capable of troubleshooting GE programs, familiar with the delicacy of their components, and can establish communication between GE and other manufacturers controllers.
I personally have less experience with Siemens, but Portland Engineering Inc. as a company has a lot of collective experience.
About Me
Why should the customer choose me? I'm honest, and take charge of what I'm responsible for. Please read through my qualifications, experience, and work philosophies to see if I am the best fit for your needs.
Professional Competencies (10)
We're good at what we do, and we're available after hours, weekends, and holidays.
We have two in house PE's licensed in that state of Oregon, Washington, and California.
We are each personally responsible for onsite start up and commissioning. Generally, the electricians perform installation, and one of our engineers verifies the installation. We understand that the jobsite is a complex and dynamic environment, and each vendor has their responsibilities. While we are careful not to work for free, or do other's work for them, we understand that the ultimate goal is to get the job done. We will go above an beyond our scope of work when it is necessary if it means moving everyone forward.
We will run your entire project if you let us. I personally am not afraid to say "no," I'm not afraid to say, "I don't know," and I rely on the experience of my team to get the job done. We do not dictate how others are to do their work, we figure out how best to apply each team member's skill set.
I work for a system integration company that regularly designs and programs PLC builds.
Engineering is finding solutions. Knowing the answer isn't important, knowing how to find the answer is what we're good at. In other words, we're good at being resourceful. If there isn't an answer to your problem today, we can have an answer for you tomorrow.
Water and Wastewater treatment is our primary field. We are also involved in Food & Beverage, and troubleshooting Timber Milling production lines.
We are more frequently 2nd-tier subcontracted by electricians, so I've listed us as 4 starts for management. However, each of our engineers is responsible for their projects in their entirety. Each engineer is capable of bidding, writing submittals, factory performance testing, onsite field startup, and support, writing O&M manuals, and ultimately tracking the billing and performance of their projects.
5 years of AutoCAD experience. We design control panel and schematics, and we can develop field instrumentation/Loop diagrams.
The engineers at Portland Engineering Inc are also the sales and marketing department. We each have to be strong communicators in working with customers to identify problems and formulating solutions. Our engineers also write project scopes, proposals, submittals, and O&M manuals.
Applications (3)
5 years starting up control panel and instrumentation for water treatment and wastewater plants. We configure and calibrate instruments in the field, perform I/O checkouts, program VFDs. We regularly work with other vendors, such as pump manufacturers, when starting up equipment, and have no problem communicating with field service engineers and technicians.
FactoryTalk C-More Wonderware Unity
Portland Engineering Inc. is a fully fledged System Integration (SI) company.
