About Me
I am an 83 year old Professional Control Systems Engineer Retired. My wife passed away recently and I am searching for part time remote work using my experience with my computers. I have several at my desposal with Microsoft 10 and Linux Mint. I am very proficient with Microsoft Office and Libre Office which is what I now normaly use. I am also proficient with TurboCAD from which I can save in most other CAD applications.

All registered PEs mus earn 15 professional Development Hours to maitain their registration and I am a approved sponser for developing and providing them at meeting or online.

On graduation from High school in 1956, I began my career in Instrumentation by becoming a shipping clerk for Manning Maxwell and Moore *****, a major manufacturer of pressure gauges, thermometers, hand and Safety relief valves. I continued working in their employ as office correspondent and manger, then in 1963, was promoted to sales engineer for the Carolina's and moved to Charlotte, NC. In1966 Dresser industries purchase MM&M and they wanted me to move the Louisiana, but I liked Charlotte and did not want to move again. 1966 Moore Products Co ***** offered me the position as Sales Engineer for the Carolina's which I accepted. They were a provider of major Instruments and controls (I&C) which furthered my education and experience. The very best firm that I worked for. 1971 My brother-In-Law and I formed Consumer Products Corp. We designed advanced control systems for Koppers Company for producing pressurized wood products and revolutionary controls for the textile dyeing and finishing industry. Unfortunately, the textile double knit industry crashed in the mid 70s and we close our doors. 1978 accepted position as Product Manager for Fairchild Industrial Products Co ** in Winston-Salem, However, I was not happy with the pay for the work I actually was called on to do. 1979 J. E. Sirrine Engineers ***** in Durham offered my a position as Instrument Engineer and I eagerly accepted. I became Lead Engineer for Weyerhaeuser Pulp & Paper. However, My wife was having a problem living in Durham so I searched and found a position back in Charlotte. 1981 Bailey controls **** offered me a position as Sales Engineer for the Carolina's Charlotte. It was a good job for a short time, but there was a shake up in top sales management that made it necessary to move on. 1983 ATS (American Technical Services**) took position as Branch Manager for Carolina's and did well until the company closed all branch offices. 1986 Day Engineering **** Became Lead I&C engineer for E.I. DuPont, Chattanooga, TN. I Did not like having to fly to Chattanooga every week so I found a better position. 1989 C T Main Engineers ***** Accepted position as I&C Engineer. Turned out to be a great job. Company was bought by Parsons Engineering in 1992 and I stay on until my retirement in 2002 as layoffs began. 2002 Became Chief Engineer for Control Services Company **** Left in 2005. 2005 Became a Job Shopper and landed a contract to upgrade controls for Weyerhaeuser paper machine. 2006 Became an Instructor at Central Piedmont Community College *** to teach courses in Instrumentation and remained there until 2015. 2017 retired as registered Professional Engineer and dissolved my personal corporation CTJohnson, Inc because I was turning 80 and thought it was time. I am presently penning a book about 60+ years of engineering experience that has been in the area of Power, Nuclear, Synthetic Fibers, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Textile, Chemical, Pulp & Paper and Wastewater Industries. EDUCATION: Instrumentation I & II, Fenn College (Now Case-Western); ICS Chemical Engineering; NCSU Management Principles; Project Management Institute Training; UNC and ISA Leadership Training.
