Work with quality control to ensure parts where leaving the plant made properly • Read blueprints. • Move and position work pieces such as mold sections, patterns, and bottom boards, using cranes. • Sprinkle or spray parting agents onto patterns and mold sections to facilitate removal of patterns • Position patterns inside mold sections and clamp sections together. • Position cores into lower sections of molds and reassemble molds for pouring. • Sift and pack sand into mold sections, core boxes, and pattern contours using hand or air tools. • Tend machines that bond, cope and drag together to form completed shell molds. • Cut sprouts, runner holes, and sprue holes into molds. • Lift upper mold sections from lower sections and remove molded patterns. • Form and assemble slab cores around patterns and position wire in mold sections to reinforce molds,using hand tools and glue. • Completed 4 year maintenance apprenticeship. Which included electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics's a specialty included in class room training • Weld and fabricate as needed (machine's and would fabricate anything from cat walks to rolling door frames anything asked I did was the only certified welder and maintenance. • Do daily, weekly and monthly PM's • Fix and rebuild hydraulic pumps • Change and make hydraulic hoses • Change bearings and conveyor belts on the conveyor systems • Change pneumatic cylinders and rebuild when possible also rebuilt gear boxes • Change the polarity on belts in electrical boxes fix diagnose any electrical issues that might come up • Troubleshoot PLC issues and fix the problem • Check relay switches and fix and/or replace • After 3 years was promoted to lead man after 5 years Supervisor. I ran my shift had 12 guys who I'd give daily assignments also worked with the production supervisors with any issues that they may have. • Was the first supervisor to initiate a daily weekly and monthly PM system that held employee accountable by signing off as they were completed then assigned the test my lead man to spot randomly check behind my guys to ensure they were done properly. • Also initiated a PM training class and on the floor training to ensure the employee understood what he had to PM and the importance of the PM. I made it a required training that way there was no misunderstanding of what I expected to be done. I was able to cut out the excuses of employee not knowing what to do and what was expected.
