without. I came over to StakeHolder as their IE/ Automation Specialist, I was the first person in the company to hold this position. I was stationed at Campo Viejo were we processed 50 million btu a day along with making NGL's and residue gases, we also had a large crude oil terminal and many field LACT units and pumping stations and I was in charge of the automation for all of it. I came in and immediately began fixing programming issues they were having both in the plant and at their field assets which consisted of Allen Bradley 1756, 850 and 1400 series of controllers as well as Schneider Scadapack's. When I arrived the programs were not written properly and had very poor structure to them along with the comms for their SCADA system. After adjusting and fixing all of the issues for their current asssets we acquired 30 LACT units from a producer and we changed everyone of their control panels to a Micro 850 with a Panelview HMI. I built all of the programs for these from scratch along with the Freewave radio networking to have the field assets all report to one gateway instead of being scattered all over the place. My daily duties consisted of programming changes and troubleshooting along with electrical troubleshooting and repairs. This was a very high level position as the PCS and SCS panels alone for our company had a few thousand IO not including the third party panels that were interfacing with our setup to be on our server. I handled the security and changes from when I started to our server system ensuring the safety of the secure layers that all of the process controls rested on. I was in charge of a project installing a RedLion Edge device as a firewall between the second and third layer of our networking system to allow the scada to access tags directly from the PCS that were missing without allowing the outer world to have access into our secure layer 2. By this point I have programmed on many platforms in my career and there is not one that I cannot pick up and figure out on the fly. Twilight Services [CONTROLS PROGRAMMER/AUTOMATION ENGINEER] I came over to Twilight to become their lead automation engineer and programmer. Before they were paying an engineering firm a hefty price for all of the programming but I was able to save them thousands of dollars a month by building the PLC and HMI programs from scratch. I am responsible for the installation and complete commissioning of new locations and the retrofitting of older existing locations. My day to day routines were going to different locations and troubleshooting problems and coming up with swift solutions for them. I built all of the PLC and HMI programs from complete scratch on TIA PORTAL and WinnCC for a Siemens S7 1200 and a TP900 Comfort Panel. Functions of my programming included remote connectivity for programming at home if changes needed to be made, Modbus polling of field devices, scaling and normalizing of analog signals, controlling outputs for shutin's, callouts, alarms and pump control permissive based off of inputs from the field such as high level switches, vessel and wellhead pressures, and tank levels. All of my HMI applications were very convenient and easy to the customer allowing them to change slave id's of devices and registers being polled, setpoints for Hihi - Lolo alarms, and scaling of the analog devices. I also interfaced with the customer's SCADA system and the lact unit company's Allen Bradley PLC's. I set up my plc as a TCP server as well as an RTU slave and built holding register maps for the values that both companies needed to see for their systems. Siemens is not the only programming I did while here, I also set up and programmed many Total Flow gas measurement RTU's. Worth mentioning I also had to retrofit some older locations for my customer where I had to completely rebuild them a program from scratch for a SCADAPACK plc using Telepace Studios and got it done successfully. I gained a big reputation with my clients, after a few months no longer were they calling my boss for issues to be solved they would just call me directly. I worked 7 days a week for 30-40 days straight and they always knew that I was reliable and would stay however late it took to get the job done and get it done the correct way. Because of the large amount of programming I have been doing during my time here I actually purchased my own computer with my own software for all of these devices including TIA PORTAL and WinCC, Crimson 3.0 and 3.1, Breez 6, PCCU 32 and Telepace Studios.
