Kapil — Automation and Robotics Programmer

Gathering PLCs, HMIs and Robots requirements from customers. Preparing hardware list and ordering PLCs, HMIs, SCADA softwares, Breakout boards, PLC cabinets, and related devices. Producing PLC IO list and PLC Data Exchange list for every new commissioning projects. Designing and assembling PLC panels as per process control requirements. Developing and modifying PLC and HMI programs with machine safety interlocks. Troubleshooting and Maintaining PLC panels and programs for more than 250 customer sites. Lead more than 40 automation commissioning projects involving PLCs, SCADA, HMIs and Robots. Creating messaging between software using SQL/SQLite DB, and PLCs over MODBUS, EtherNet/IP, PROFIBUS, and PROFINET. Conducting site visits and meetings with customers; providing FEED Study documents. Developing project related budgetary proposals, project execution plans, schedules, PLC IO lists, Control Narratives and Process Flow diagrams. Supervising and working collaboratively with engineers, and electricians. Reviewing and providing feedback on team collective or customer/vendors provided information.

Worked on designing, prototyping, developing, testing, and analyzing of Wireless Robotic Motion Control systems. Operated Pitch and Roll Axis control using Schneider M-Drive Integrated stepper motor; programmed using MCode. Developed few prototypes using Arduino microcontrollers. Programmed a Wireless Robotic Remote Controller program for Windows Tablet in VB.NET and C++ Designed 24VDC power circuit with an UPS system for up to 4 hours power backup for a Robotic Couch Extension. Generated SolidWorks Parts and Assembly drawings with bills of material.

Maintained GIMA K-Cup Coffee capsule packaging systems controlled by AB ControlLogix PLC, AB PanelView Plus HMI, Schneider MDrive and PacDrive servos. Debugging automated system to achieve uptime and machine cycle times. Programmed and maintained FANUC Robots recipes for various pick and drop configuration for different pallet sizes. Maintained K-cup capsules forming machine lines controlled by Siemens Simatic S7-1200 PLC, Simatic HMI, PacDrive servos, and Cognex vision system. Programmed Cognex Machine Vision system for automated vision quality control. Developed and maintained HMI program for capsule forming machines and plant connecting conveyor system using VB.NET.

Installed and replaced control instruments at oil refineries. Assembled and maintained kiln and furnace systems. Evaluated and marked-up process documentation, P&ID drawings, and Electrical drawings. Generated system inspection reports, measured process performance, collected and recorded data and prepared formal reports. Calibrated and repaired process instruments as per scheduled maintenance.
