About Me
I currently serve as a Maintenance Engineer in the Assembly Shop at Mercedes-Benz
Vans. Although I have performed tasks related to this role, I've spent most of the first 2
years in the Body Shop (Weld) auditing documentation, setting up spare parts, &
verifying that the newly installed equipment met Daimler's Integra Standard & then
transferred to assist the company by performing those tasks in the Assembly Shop. I
have also trained others to do these tasks using Daimler's systems/software & have
also begun to develop analytical tools to aid in Downtime Analysis, Documenting, &
Controls changes. I also aided in the startup of our 3
rd
Shift by serving as the acting
Group Leader for 3
rd
Shift Maintenance in the Body Shop until our new Group Leader
was trained & in place.
I have some experience with Siemens Step7 Software & have attended Integra training
for Daimler which was used to assist with activities related to the startup of a newly built
Body Shop. During this time, I have used Daimler's SRM system, iMRM System, &
have become familiar with the Integra Wave 5 Standard. I also lead &/or assist with
correction of equipment related issues that have resulted from improper installation,
faulty design, &/or other OEM related issues. I also assist with staffing of the
Maintenance Department by conducting technical interviews of Maintenance
Candidates for Body Shop, Paint Shop & Assembly. I have attended EPLAN Basic
design training & am currently awaiting the Daimler "Integra" training for EPLAN
Software. I have also completed Siemens Step 7 PLC1 & PLC2 and am scheduled for
the remaining required classes and exam in order to be certified by Siemens for Step 7
Programming. All courses and exam are scheduled for completion before Sept. of 2020.
I have extensive experience programming, debugging, troubleshooting, & retrofitting
Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs. I am certified by Rockwell Automation for programming
Controllogix Systems. I also have experience with CNCs, CO2 LASERS, Resistance
Welders, Punch Presses and other miscellaneous equipment with troubleshooting,
repairing, modifying, etc. I am CO2 LASER certified on Coherent/Convergent S48 and
S48+ LASERS as well as FANUC CO2 LASERS. I also have experience in mechanics,
hydraulics and pneumatics. I have been exposed to Omron PLCs and have attended a
Basic/Intermediate combination class for CX-One at the Alabama RTP center.
While employed at Honda, I served double-duties as a Reliability Engineering Associate
& Controls Engineering Associate in Line 2 Paint. The position required trouble-shooting
& repair of Industrial equipment, design & implementation of equipment improvements,
development & implementation of breakdown related countermeasures, mostly dealing
with controls &/or electrical related redesign. I have experience with Rockwell Devicenet
Networks & was responsible for mitigation of obsolete devicenet components. I have
installed several new Rockwell Devicenet networks in existing production equipment. I
developed electrical prints for any new remote device enclosures that I designed and
also updated any electrical prints regarding any modifications, changes, upgrades, etc.
using AutoCAD. I also shared responsibility for PM plan development & improvements
with the Planner while in this role, but primarily served the company by performing
breakdown analysis, designing out flaws in production equipment, upgrading production
equipment, & retrofitting when obsolete components were discovered.
I served on the PO-Injection Expansion Team at Honda and developed machine
specifications for their newest LASER cutting machine and specifications for an RFID
tracking system. I performed all New Model related G-Code programming for the
LASER cutters in PO-Injection at Honda as well as any conveyor related modifications
including passing Job data to Paint Mix PLC Systems, Robot PLCs, IR Ovens, etc. I
have experience with Pro-face GP-Pro EX & used the software to program & install
some Pro-face HMIs to replace several obsolete Allen-Bradley PV600 units that
communicate via devicenet. I supervised a Maintenance crew for around 6 years, where
I was responsible for work schedules and training for my team. In this position, I was
also responsible for coordinating the team during breakdowns, breakdown reporting,
and development of permanent countermeasures.
