About Me
I am an electrical engineer with a software engineering background and have experience with several programming languages and IDE’s. After transitioning to manufacturing my focus switched to automation and integration. I have extensive knlowdege of robotics and an assortment of plc programming platforms. My work ethic and ability to adapt to new situations makes me a perfect candidate for any fast paced JIT manufacturing environment.
Skilled Trades (1)
Experience with 24 and 480 volt control cabinets and systems. Can trouble shoot electrical components to indentify failures and lead in replacement and or improvement of failed equipment. Relays, contractors, fuses, wiring, pushbottons, switches, power supplies, transformers.
Applications (4)
Experience in designing robust logic integrated with HMI's, robotics and any other modules necessary for the job. Experience in adding Ethernet modules for communication to devices in the field. Structured text experience and importing/exporting UDT's. Exposure to latch based programming for easy trouble shooting with maintenance and more dynamic applications if needed. Remote IO experience to expand capabilities outside area local to main cabinet.
Used keyence IV series vision sensors bolted to extruded aluminum frame to pass fail pallets stopped at check station. All communication done through ethernet to ensure remote access to engineers.
Developed comprehensive HMI's through Allen Brandley's Factory Talk Machine Edition. This includes cell overviews and manual/auto operations of robot cells and conveyors.
Used cognex patmax obeject location to locate seat coming down conveyor. Triggered camera and sent X/Y coordinates to PLC. Through group input sent two integer values to robot from plc. These values were applied as an offset to master work position from which the camera was triggered. The robot was successfully able to account for any pallet variation and pick/placed consistently.
