Programming Skills (1)

11 yrs★★★★☆

I completed AB training at the Chrysler Training Center. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. I then worked as a maintenance supervisor for Chrysler skilled trades and was responsible to assisting plant skilled? trades with recovery of automated systems when there was a controls issue or any issue. Then I worked for GM as a controls engineer for 4 months for 2nd and 3rd shifts providing PLC support for two IHI press lines. I was resposible for determining breakdown issues via a Siemens protocol system. Identify issue, get part, replace part. Validate part was the issue. If we could jump around the input we would but usually required controls device changed out in the PIP's.

About Me

I started my career as a technical service point of contact for DCT at Chrysler Windsor Assembly for the 96 NS Platform. I worked hand in hand with Chrysler production and maintenance on issues with the automated robotic welding and assembly systems planted there. I went on to integrate the Fenton Assembly Plant in 97 with automation that reduced the need for over 500 personnel with robotics and SysTmation conveyors. 98 I integrated additional automation at Warren Truck for the Dakota, Indiana Transmission Plant 45RFE laser welding cells and Formet Industries in London Ontario with 40 laser cutting cells for the GMT 800 GM project for the Chevy truck platform. 99 I spent at KC Truck for Ford upgrading the BIW to run the P225 truck and integrating two stand alone underbody lines. 2000 I headed to Fenton to supervise the integration of the DR Dodge Ram box build automated robotic welding systems for 18 months, which I was pulled out by Gino Rafin to complete the integration and kitting of the largest dual frame line for the DR project at Tower Automotive in Milwaukee due to not making the build for the platform and after implementing changes to the installed design we were able to attain run at rate thresholds. I departed Tower and headed for Newark Delaware to manage the integration of the HB, new Durango underbody automated robotic welding and assembly systems using the largest ever integrated robot, a Nachi 500 capable of picking and placing an entire underbody after the automation completed the build. I then headed to Toronto to oversee the demolition of the existing Intrepid body shop and retrofit the robots, welding guns, and install new transfer systems capable of producing the Dodge Magnum, Charger, Challenger and Chrysler 300. In 2004 I joined Chrysler as a BIW Maintenance supervisor at Warren Truck, went back to Fenton and ended up on the no transfer end of the Chrysler buy outs in 2009. Mid 2010 I started at GM Wentzville Stamping, back in BIW GM Fairfax

Skilled Trades (2)

Maintenance
★★★★★

I have installed, debugged and maintained automated robotic welding and assembly systems for over a decade. I implemented TPM at WTAP and SLNAP Dodge Ram truck plants. Supervised skilled trades in a 60 jph facility and responded to any and all breakdowns. MTTR was crucial as the design of the banks between systems was poorly designed.

Robotic Welding
★★★★★

Started robotic welding in the 90's. Became familiar with weld guns as EOA tooling on Nachi and Kawasaki robots. Spent time at Milco in Warren Michigan learning about weld gun maintenance and repair then did it for a decade on multiple installations and as a front line maintenance supervisor at many sites and assigned to Warren Truck and St Louis North South assembly's. Trained in resistance welding parameters at Macomb Community college and modified weld schedules in the field during production to take corrective action on failing welds. Intimately familiar with Medar controllers and all components that allow a weld gun to weld. Transformers, weld cables and I/O.

Professional Competencies (2)

maintenance
★★★★★

I installed debugged and launched multiple body shops for Chrysler and Ford. I was a front line maintenance supervisor at Warren Truck and St Louis North. I was responsible for modifying the TMS system to convert static PM's to dynamic checks allowing skilled trades to perform these while running the equipment. My resume details the various projects I have done in relevance to maintenance.

robotic welding
★★★★★

Started working with robotic welding at Windsor in 97. After 5 months of being imbedded at that plant as a service laison for DCT I started kitting automation, installing robots that welded and were material handlers eliminating hundreds of jobs performed by human before me and the robots arrived at the plants. Have had extensive training in resistance welding and arc braze, as well as laser welding at ITP. There are few people who have the background in this as I do.

Applications (2)

Integration
★★★★★

I started installing automation in 1997. Installed kits at SLNAP to eliminate 500 UAW workers and increase the jph to 55 from 48. I have set up launch sites, received equipment by the semi full and took care of doing layouts for equipment in specific positions for the automation layouts. Please see my resume for the depth of my experience. The last installation I did was at Brampton in 03 and 04, then while at WTAP I was the lead for the ND program in BIW. I have installed, debugged and launched to meet JPH in order to receive the final 10 percent via customer buyoff. Maintain open issues lists and integrate kits for attain 100 percent satisfaction for payment.

Transfer Systems
★★★★★

Specialized in lift and carry systems for station to station transfers which were composed of an Easom drive and manufactured parts to allow transfer of sheet metal station to station as SysTmation conveyors and their cheap knock offs would feed the stations with parts which would assimilate the small parts into complete underbody's. I was sent to multiple Chrysler plants to fine tune their lift and carry systems after skilled trades from the CAW at Windsor and I figured out why the box floor system was over stroking the hockey stick.
