Over 30 yrs experience in Insturmentation and Electrical Controls with a high level of troubleshooting and installation / commissioning experience. Also fabrication of parts to fit / assemble instrument control components.

Experience in a variety of industries with broad knowledge of other disciplines besides Electrical. Also fabrication experience to mate control components together and/or repair using torches, welding, lathe and milling machinery.

Experience in positions as Field Tech, Field Service Engineer, Field Engineer, Instrument / Electrical Tech & Project Manager I was involved in commissioning of those projects I was a part of new or retro-fits / upgrades. Even in projects in other countries involving diverse conditions.

Control Panel design, common Electrical design and Commissioning.

Ability to think "out of the box", using principles of physics, attention to details. On a new offshore production platform still in the process of obtaining "first oil" we had returned after evacuating for Hurricane Gustav which was the first time for this platform (Blind Faith - MC 650), we were in the process of bringing the power systems up which entailed the use of our batteries for intial power. The construction generators had suffered damage with one completly gone and the other had storm damage issues. Without power for the Safety systems to and basic quarters usage to operate, the personnel could not remain on the platform but had to return to shore as per Coast Guard regulations. The battery chargers had not yet been set up for voltage sensing time duration / thresholds / limits / dead bands. This meant that the voltage present was "out of limits". I deduced that simply holding in the "acknowledge" button this allowed enough time for the unit to "see" the voltage and then allowed us to continure the power up process. This simple step saved tens of thousands of dollars for transportation of personnel back to shore not to mention just the logistical issues.
