Troubleshooting and repairing 50 to 350 ton overhead cranes. Knowledge of correct procedures for LO/TO including high voltage handling and proper use of equipment and tools. (Gloves, inserts, hot sticks, ground straps, etc.) Responsible for repairing/replacing bus cables that service the arc furnace as well as replacing the furnace heads/electrodes. Responsible for servicing and maintaining furnace transformer, Joslyn vacuum breakers and peripheral equipment associated with it. (knife switches, cables and vault). Responsible for inspection, repair and troubleshooting static stepless system used to control motion on three axes of overhead cranes, bridge, trolley and hoist, including magnetorque brake system.
