Hahn Automation, Hebron, KY Job duties (Described in steps in production cycle of a machine / project): I worked with Electrical Design and Mechanical Design team at initial design kick off meetings to go over key features of new machines. These machines were first time build machines with no prototypes or models before. After kick off meeting, I wrote the PLC, HMI, and / or robot and servomotor programs from scratch, while working closely with design team, maintaining weekly meeting reviews. This stage may have lasted a few weeks. I conducted vision studies of the customer products if and when a camera inspection system was involved. Based on this vision report, the camera components were ordered by the Electrical design team. I also communicated this report with Mechanical Design so they can appropriately update machine design based on reach and camera mount positions. On power up date, I commissioned the electrical hardware on the machine, for example, setting up IP, firmware, frequencies etc on the brand new components that have been assembled by Electrical and Mechanical Assembly team. Then I downloaded my programs to the PLC, HMI, robot, cameras, servomotors, and other necessary components that may be on the machine. Then I debugged the machine closely working with assembly and design team to get it ready for customer visit. There may have been a few customer review visits before the final Factory Acceptance Test. On Factory Acceptance Test day, in the capacity of Controls Engineer, I assisted in detailed test run of the machine for 4 hours or 8 hours. The machine was required to run at agreed upon availability (for example, 95%) rate at specified cycle time to pass FAT. Then I traveled with the machine to customer site to test and make sure it runs at same performance during FAT, after dismantling and shipment to the customer site from our site. On Site Acceptance Test day, in the capacity of Controls Engineer, I assisted in detailed test run of the machine just like FAT and made sure it performs according to specifications. When this passed, I received the final signature and closed the project. Often when not on full cycle machine production role, I worked with Field Service Department in the capacity of travelling Controls Engineer to debug outstanding issues on pre-shipped machines that passed SAT. July 2016 -November 2021 (5 years and 4 month)
