About Me
I have been privileged to be able to work on some of the most complex and involved systems in South Africa's Automotive industries, from 1000Kg+ payload Robots transferring bodies in body shops to 20Kg payload 3 second cycle time assembly cells. Over the years I have picked up the most widely used PLC software packages and have integrated them to Narchi, Fanuc, Omron, Yaskawa, and Kawasaki Robots.

Currently, I am appointed head of PLC / DCS development for all of Directech's Projects, All of Directech's systems are built to the customer's needs, Their main line of work is in the automotive sector and varies from material handling, robotic welding Cells, laser cutters, sealer systems, conveyors, lifters, AGV's, automatic storage and retrieval warehouses to name a few. These systems are usually fully integrated into the customers supporting systems including production schedulers, maintenance calls, and quality control. Our other industries include Power generation, Water treatment, Railway, Food, Beverage, Mining, Parcel handling, and medical We specialize in Zenon Scada systems but due to the broad spectrum of the industries we work in, we are required to work with a wide variety of different standards, PLCs, and Scada systems.
I was appointed to head up a new automation department for MME Electro Systems where I would handle incoming job requests, quote, design, development and commission new PLC projects. Using mostly Siemens's new Tia portal and 1x00 range of CPU's as well as Schneider's M340 and M580 range of CPU's for a wide variety of different plants. This includes food and beverage as well as water treatment and supply plants.
