Responsible for oversight of all Engineering and manufacturing activity at the Carson City, NV facility, plus oversight of engineering for all WSP Automation Division offices which are located in Carson City, NV, Mason OH and Neenah, WI. These facilities design, manufacture, assemble, test and install a vast variety of custom and standard labeling systems which include all associated product handling, ranging from small to fortune 500 companies. With an emphasis on robust designs and documentation, I developed and implemented a very successful standardization program to modernize, modularize and document a common series of assemblies which allow easy configuration of complex label applicator equipment. This resulted in a 20% cost reduction, 50% turn times reduction and substantial improvements in quality. This "template" for modular equipment has become the benchmark for all subsequent standardization projects. The Carson City facility is now known for innovative, on time, on budget projects along with an intercompany service call "Shared Services" in which we have leveraged my in-depth knowledge of machine design and manufacturing to offer such services to the 17 plus label manufacturing sites within WSP to further strengthen our capabilities and market share. WSP is now the largest label manufacturer in the USA. Other accomplishments are, implemented a technical training program for engineers, assemblers and field technicians, lowered operating costs, improved employee morale, customer satisfaction and a renewed confidence from our internal customers. I also implemented a barcode work order system (division wide) to entering work cell labor into the ERP system. This eliminated all manual labor and material entry's and greatly improved costing and scheduling. All these improvements were accomplished by building solid SOP's based on reliable documentation and a strong team "we own it" work ethic. I participate in the development of Corporate Operations Protocol in an ongoing basis. Engineered, and implemented, custom automated solutions for a vast variety of feeding, packaging and assembly applications for industries such as Medical, Pharmaceutical, Food, Cosmetic, Healthcare, Household Product's and others, mostly fortune 500 companies. This includes full documentation including detail drawings and B.O.M. while working with minimal supervision, managing my own projects. I managed junior engineers, production and assembly activities. Frequently was asked to participate in development of "Advanced Projects" with the principals of the company. Detailed responsibilities: (With direct customer relations) System Design New Product Design Site Surveys/Plant Layouts Project Scheduling Specification Compliance and Negotiation FMEA Evaluations Technical Problem Solving Customer Conflict Resolution Factory Acceptance Testing Training Programs Interface/Integration Warranty Also: Headed "Capital Equipment" Purchase Programs. IQ, OQ, PQ In-House "Feasibility Studies". Headed R&D projects for Innovation. "Standard Products" Design. "MRP" System (Represented Engineering on the "Selection Committee"). Consultant to the "Machine Shop" for Complex Problems and CNC Training. Developed CAD tools such as AutoCAD Menus and Lisp routines, which were accepted and used as standards within the Engineering Department. As a CAD Power User was instrumental in the migration to SolidWorks. Headed an initiative to study and improve the Sales and Application engineering process to enhance efficiency and customer relations.
