Automation Engineer contract in Spartanburg, South Carolina. $44/hr · 3 months.

Three month Contract to Direct Hire-

Objective of the Position: Lead automation projects of production processes through implementation of sensoric, optical, pneumatic, and mechanical control features through PLC programming, robot programming and electronic system configuration. Plans and designs control systems to improve production equipment and enhance functionality. This job creates, maintains, and leads action plans for new projects and develops standards and programs for machine builders to use. Lastly, this position implements controls changes and improvements throughout the facility.

Essential Accountabilities: The position incumbent:

· Designs and implements automation and control systems to streamline and improve operational processes. Must be able to generate schematic diagrams, panel layouts, and bill of material (40%)

· Reviews drawings and programs and follows-through with buyoff/open issues and trouble shooting (20%)

· Supports production (20%)

· Creates high quality software for equipment and integrated software solutions that exceed customer requirements (20%)

· Performs functional test of machinery on site and off site.

· Leads troubleshooting and problem-solving activities and skills as related to machinery and control systems

· Ensures project designs comply with engineering principles and all regulatory requirements.

· Creates and improves standards/documentation

Secondary Accountabilities:

· Conducts all business related activities for, and on the behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements

· Provides support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements

· Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all EETAM polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality

· Has the ability to travel domestically by car or plane

· Other duties as assigned

Requirement Profile:

Professional Background/Basic Qualification/Work Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in engineering.

· Minimum 7 years’ experience in industrial automotive plant environment

· Strong knowledge of electrical engineering design in the field of industrial automation, troubleshooting and servicing with a minimum of two year experience with principle PLC manufacturers such as Allen-Bradley, GE Fanuc, or Siemens; Siemens preferred

· Knowledge of electrical and safety design standards (NFPA, NEC, IEC/EN 62061, etc.) required

· Automation project implementation track record

· Project management experience/training

· To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office

· Knowledgeable of controls, PLC, and automation concepts

· Knowledgeable of welding and metal forming techniques and processes.

· Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations, including calculations, percentages, etc.

· Analytical- Synthesize complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; designs work flows and procedures
