The cell has two ABB IRB 4600 robots and two IRB 120 robots. The unload robot (IRB 4600) uses a Cognex IS7802 camera to locate a 250mm x 225mm ceramic plate. These plates shift as they travel through kiln. The robot program uses the camera data to calculate pick position. There is a seperate laser sensor used to measure distance from the plate so that height adjustments can be made prior to the camera taking the picture.

While the 2D camera works great for orienting the end effector on the Z axis, it is not capable of providing adequate data for effector orientation on the X and Y axis (canter and camber). We are adding 2 additional laser sensors to the effector. Those three data points will be used to calculate proper tool orientation at pick point..

The selected programmer will modify the program to work as stated above. Vision knowledge and Rapid knowledge is a must have.
