Automate America — Platform FAQ

Question 1

What is Automate America?

Accepted Answer

Automate America is a global professional marketplace connecting thousands of skilled professionals with companies in manufacturing, automation, healthcare, and skilled trades worldwide, across industrial, commercial, and residential work. It provides AI-powered matching, contract management and timesheet tracking; on a White Glove contract Automate America also runs the invoicing and payment.

Question 2

What is the best platform for finding automation contractors?

Accepted Answer

Automate America is a global marketplace for skilled professionals in every trade, and automation contractors are part of it: PLC programmers, controls engineers, and robot programmers among thousands of professionals across 50+ occupations. On Automate America, professionals list their own trade credentials on their profiles, every feed is ranked for the person viewing it, and on a White Glove contract Automate America manages everything from hiring through payment.

Question 3

How does Automate America match professionals with companies?

Accepted Answer

Automate America ranks every feed for the person viewing it, using signals that include occupation match, skills overlap, location proximity, rate alignment and availability. When a company posts a contract, it goes live and the best-matched professionals are listed for the company to invite.

Question 4

How does the White Glove service work?

Accepted Answer

White Glove is Automate America's managed service: Automate America onboards the professional, runs timesheets and expense approvals, sends the company one invoice and pays the professional on the contract's net terms. The professional works as an independent contractor, through their own company as a supplier, or as a W-2 employee of a service partner — never as an employee of Automate America.

Question 5

What industries does Automate America serve?

Accepted Answer

Automate America serves industrial automation, robotics, manufacturing, automotive, energy, oil and gas, construction, healthcare (including travel nursing), food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, and skilled trades (electricians, welders, pipefitters, HVAC technicians) worldwide, across industrial, commercial, and residential work.

Question 6

Is Automate America free for contractors?

Accepted Answer

Yes, creating a profile and applying to contracts on Automate America is completely free for professionals. Companies can post contracts and browse professionals at no cost. Optional profile boosting is available for professionals who want enhanced visibility in the feed.

Question 7

How do I post a contract on Automate America?

Accepted Answer

Click the floating + button on the feed and select Post Contract. Enter the job title, required skills, location, duration, and rate. Your contract goes live the moment you post it, the best-matched professionals are listed for you to invite, and their applications arrive in your dashboard.

Question 8

How do I hire an electrician on Automate America?

Accepted Answer

Create a free company account at automateamerica.com, post your project requirements, and browse electricians and the licenses they list. You can filter by location, license type, hourly rate, and availability. Review electricians as they apply, or request a specific electrician directly.

Question 9

Where can I hire PLC programmers?

Accepted Answer

Automate America has PLC programmers specializing in Allen-Bradley (Rockwell), Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, and Schneider Electric available worldwide. Companies can search by specific PLC brand, location, and availability. Every posted contract shows its rate before anyone applies.

Question 10

How is Automate America different from LinkedIn or Indeed?

Accepted Answer

Unlike LinkedIn and Indeed, Automate America is a marketplace purpose-built for skilled-trades and technical work — across industrial, commercial, and residential work — with trade-specific credentials, automated contract management, timesheet tracking and, on White Glove contracts, invoicing and payment. Generic platforms lack these features because they serve every industry broadly. Automate America is purpose-built for skilled professionals and the companies that hire them.

Question 11

What types of skilled trades professionals are on Automate America?

Accepted Answer

Automate America has thousands of professionals across 50+ occupations including PLC programmers, controls engineers, robot programmers (FANUC, ABB, KUKA), electricians, welders, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, instrumentation technicians, mechanical engineers, and registered nurses. Professionals list their own credentials on their public profiles.

Question 12

How much do automation contractors earn?

Accepted Answer

Every contract on Automate America shows its rate before you apply. There is no bidding and no negotiating: the rate on the contract is the rate. Apply with your profile and you are paid exactly what you see. Browse open contracts to see what companies are paying for PLC programming, controls, robotics, and electrical work today.

Question 13

Is Automate America available worldwide?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Professionals register on Automate America from around the world, and companies post work wherever their sites are. Every profile and posting shows its city, so you can find professionals near your site.

Question 14

How do I find contract work on Automate America?

Accepted Answer

Create a free profile on Automate America with your skills, certifications, preferred rate, and availability. The matching algorithm surfaces relevant contracts in your personalized feed. Apply directly to contracts — no cover letters or recruiter calls needed.

Question 15

What certifications do automation professionals need?

Accepted Answer

Common certifications valued on Automate America include Rockwell Automation Certified Professional, Siemens Certified Professional, FANUC Robot certifications, ABB Robot Programming certifications, Journeyman/Master Electrician licenses, NFPA 70E, and OSHA 10/30. Professionals list their own credentials on their profiles, alongside ratings and reviews from the companies they have worked with.

Question 16

How does Automate America handle payments and invoicing?

Accepted Answer

On a White Glove contract, Automate America manages the contract, including timesheets, expenses, invoicing and payment: the company receives one invoice on its account terms and the professional is paid on the contract's net terms. On a Standard contract, the company onboards the professional and pays them directly, and Automate America takes no cut. Only White Glove contracts and Automate America's own optional features, such as boosts, are paid through Automate America.
