Bismarck State College is North Dakota's polytechnic institution, specializing in technical education and applied sciences. BSC's National Energy Center of Excellence (NECE) is the premier training facility for power plant and energy industry professionals in the Great Plains region. The Electric Power Technology program trains students for careers in power generation, transmission, and distribution — covering conventional and renewable energy systems. The Process Plant Technology program prepares operators for oil refineries, gas processing plants, and chemical facilities — directly serving the Bakken oil region workforce needs.
