Controls Engineer contract in Highland Park, Michigan. $80/hr · 9 months.
Experienced Controls Engineer needed for a 8 month contract.
The main missions of the role are:
Monitoring and Installation of control systems and work in plant including installations, projects and routine troubleshooting. To implement and suggest continuous improvement ideas concerning electrical, plc and overall plant operations while inputting feedback as a member of the Team.
Experience:
Experience in production in an industrial environment
Skills & Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive sector
Knowledge and experience in Project Management process
Knowledge of Production System Efficiency basics
Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills
International mind set
Fluent in English
Designing and developing new control systems;
Testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems;
Analyzing data and presenting findings in written reports;
Implementation of new projects;
Working collaboratively with process engineers, operations, maintenance and other internal staff;
Liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors and relevant companies;
Training of electrical, plc’s and specialty equipment to increase maintenance abilities;
Troubleshooting and problem-solving;
Understanding and ensuring compliance with the health and safety regulations and quality standards of the company in which work is undertaken;
Serves as technical expert/resource to the manufacturing plant maintenance departments, Technical Support Group and Technical Support Representatives for the commercial dealer systems
Review maintenance issue, process issues, quality issues and equipment issues to create problem solving actions;
Writing PLC programs and test procedures;
Represents the company in contacts with outside suppliers of equipment, services and systems
Accepting responsibility and a level of accountability that is proportionate to the seniority of the position.
Conveys information to plants on equipment or process improvements in all areas of responsibility
Proposes new programs to keep equipment and processes technologically advanced and leading the industry in product quality, productivity and energy efficiency.
Process and equipment review during runoffs, and buyoffs at Suppliers.
Validation that new equipment meets HSE, FES, OHSA, ERGO, and all other standards.
Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to the company Code of Ethics and Code of Management.
And all other responsibilities deemed by Engineering.
8 month contract Approx 50-60 Hours per week. Scheduled for day and or night shifts, must be flexible and willing to work off shifts/overtime when needed.
Equipment and platforms on this work: ABB, Fanuc, Keyence, KUKA, LabVIEW and Siemens.
Tools called for: Basic Electrical Tools, Basic Hand Tools and Lockout Tagout Kit.
