In this application, we are implementing a new machine add-on capability that involves a new End-of-Arm-Tool that we call IMD (In-mold Deflash process). The EOAT supports insertion of components into the mold and it also removes the fuel tank and the flash. The blow molding machine is a double-clamp operation with one ABB Parison robot that transfers extruded parison to the 2 clamps, and another “article” robot that uses the mentioned EOAT. The components are loaded on an operator reloading shuttle in order to get components safely into the robot zone for pick-up by the EOAT on the article robot. The robot program is written and should be ready for a dry-cycle attempt. (The machine control software programming, Siemens S5, has to catch up.). We need someone to spend some time with our robot programmer in preparation and then to be on-site during a dry cycle attempt.

Working with the customer's robot programmer June 22 -24 to get an understanding of the ABB program. On-site July 5-8 for testing.
