Here's what the professional sees. Invited to Apply is right on their dashboard, with the work, the date, and whether it's still open. View and apply opens the work, with the invitation right under the title.

Here's what happens next. When they apply, they appear in your dashboard with everyone else who applied. Shortlist the ones you like, and hire the one you want. Thank you for trusting us with your work.

There's no risk in inviting, or in applying, ever. Inviting is free, and it doesn't hire anyone. Nothing is committed until you click Hire, and the professional clicks Accept Offer.
