Seeking a dynamic and proactive Advanced Quality Planning Engineer (AQPE) to work closely with the Product Development team members developing and maintaining a Quality Plan to manage and mitigate project risk in for a flawless product launch that meets cost, quality, delivery requirements. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to lead in the problem solving (8D’s), analysis, and resolution of new product-related investigative items or internal quality items discovered during launch. Support efforts for prevention of repeat issues and systemic improvements to the Product Development Processes to reduce New Products Quality Notices (QNs).
Ensure the project Quality Plan for new products and product modifications are focused on the voice of the customer and all project quality deliverables are completed in a timely manner.
Facilitate front-end product, tool, or assembly design or process review and design FMEAs by providing inputs on internal and external quality history, lessons learned and active critical thinking and questioning. Review and approve reliability test plan.
Facilitate the development of measurement plans or methods and lead the disposition of new products at First Off Tool (FOT) and Qualification. This includes taking ownership of gauges and inspection fixtures, performing Measurement System Analysis, Capability Studies and any necessary statistical analysis for tool or process qualification.
Work with Manufacturing AQP or QE to conduct Safe Launch exercise perform process audits and reverse (go and see) FMEAs to qualify new production processes, and to ensure compliance to documented control plans for new products.
Review and approve supplier product-specific documentation on new and modified purchased components. Work with supplier quality engineer to ensure compliance and customer acceptance documentation is properly completed.
Required Qualifications - BS Degree in Engineering, 3+ years’ experience in Quality Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications: Training in DOE, Advance Quality Planning Tools like DFMEA, Lean / Six Sigma, reliability test plans.
3+ years’ experience in Quality engineering in a new-product introduction environment.
3+ years’ experience performing PFMEA/DFMEA and using other Advanced Quality Planning tools.
Skills and Abilities: Strong organizational skills to anticipate, plan, self-monitor and manage workload.
Good interpersonal skills for effective leadership and team facilitation. Solid knowledge & understanding of metrology and GD&T. Knowledge of statistics experience using Minitab or other software. Experience using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
