We are seeking a highly experienced senior automation engineer for an ongoing fractional/contract role supporting industrial automation projects.
This is NOT primarily a PLC programming position.
Autonomy of action. Alignment of architecture. Transparency of work.
Engineer must be capable of taking ownership of project execution from requirements through system architecture, detailed engineering, FAT/SAT and commissioning. BHA provides proven architectures, blueprints and engineering patterns as the foundation. We expect experienced engineers to exercise judgment, contribute ideas and improve the work while collaborating transparently with the larger engineering team.
The Deliverable is the Work.
We value engineering momentum. Review, critique, and agree on plan -- planning is Closed -- then 100% Execute. Move confidently on what is known, flag what isn't, and iterate rapidly. Questions and edge cases do not stop it, merely inform it. We value engineers who can act, recover quickly from the inevitable flaws, and turn engineering knowledge into working deliverables with impact.
Bring your AI and plug into the larger whole.
BHA operates an AI-enabled engineering environment. Engineers are expected to be proficient with, and bring, their own Claude Code. From there being comfortable working collaboratively with BHA's Team of AI Engineering Agents and people is highly desirable. AI is the enablement of increased engineering velocity while freeing engineers to focus on higher-level technical and design decisions.
Our culture is built around Transparency, Expertise, Authenticity and Resilience. Engineers who think independently, act decisively, collaborate naturally are those that belong here.
The successful candidate must be comfortable reviewing incomplete customer requirements, identifying missing information, making sound engineering decisions, collaboaring, influencing, directing other automation engineers and work.
