Essential Duties


The ME manager will provide technical support for the design, development, and implementation of automated manufacturing systems. This individual will be responsible for the technical engineering components of the quote, design, build, so that the project meets specifications and complies with customer expectations and internal SOW, Budgets and Timing, whether the activities are performed by inhouse personnel or contractors.


The ME manager will also have upfront involvement in the quotation of new equipment supporting the proposals engineering team on concepting, drafting, listing, categorizing, qualifying and quantifying on the creation of proposals for our customers.
Responsibilities


• Develop system design solutions based on customer speciation.
• Develop mechanical design, schematics, and drawings in CAD.
• Provide technical support for equipment build.
• Responsible for project success whether project leader or as part of a project team.
• Report job status to Project Manager and/or leadership team.
• Interpret electrical and pneumatic design drawings for mechanical requirements.
• Review supplier products for assembly components per specifications from customer.
• Help establish new and maintain existing standards and department procedures.
• Develop bill of materials.
• Provide support on assembly and power up phase of equipment.
• Check quality of assemblers and technicians work and respond to inquiries during assembly.
• Work with Sales Engineers and/or proposals engineers to provide input with quote preparation as required.
• Attend sales calls as needed to support on order acquisition.
• Shared responsibility with Project Management for performance to budget and timing of the project phase.
• Coach, train, mentor and provide technical guidance to the mechanical engineering staff.
• Serve as an interface between the mechanical engineering team and other departments, project management/engineering and the customer.
• Be responsible for the completeness of design prior to release, ensuring reduced project costs and timing.
• Be responsible for effective handoff of design to the other Teams.
• Support Manufacturing, Controls and Service at the Debug and Installation Startup Phase.
• Aid the customer and improve customer satisfaction.
• Understand, design, implement and support all mechanical/fluids applications.
• Be responsible for risk assessment on projects.
• Provide project documentation, such as: Manuals, Maintenance plans, Spare Parts list, etc. (According to requirements from customers)
• Make sure that all projects have proper customer sign off prior to processes quality gates.

Supervisory Responsibilities


The Mechanical Engineering Manager will provide technical support and guidance to less experienced engineers for the design, development, and implementation. This individual will be responsible for the technical engineering components of the quote, design, build, so that the project meets specifications and complies with customer expectations and internal SOW, Budgets and Timing, whether the activities are performed by inhouse personnel or contractors.
